Claiming Waiting Time – Getting Paid, A Guide
Hi everyone – we wanted to give you a bit of guidance about waiting time, and how to claim it if you are entitled to it.
Before that, just a note to say that if we have advised you of specific collection or delivery times, and you’ve gone to collect or delivery earlier than the time stated on the job you will not be able to claim waiting time.
However, we allow 15 minutes for you to wait within the payment we have taken on the job. If you arrive to a job and feel there is a possibility that you may be waiting LET THE OFFICE KNOW RIGHT AWAY!!! We can only pay you waiting time, from the moment you tell us you are waiting – it cannot be backdated.
If you call us to let us know you even think you might be waiting, do it right away. If you call us when you have been at a job for, say, 40 minutes it is very difficult to prove how long you were on site – we can only run the timer from when we ourselves find out.
When you are leaving the site, please let us know if you were waiting more than 15 minutes, and how long you were waiting in total.
Simple! However, if you have any questions just let us know.
