Applying For Jobs At A Distance?
We wanted to clarify applying for jobs that are away from your usual collection area, or applying for jobs where the delivery point is within the 50 mile radius.
Firstly, please continue to apply for jobs – just make sure that you accurately reflect where you will be and how long it will take you to get to collection. If you are not leaving from home PLEASE SAY WHERE YOU ARE to avoid us thinking your ETA is invalid.
We always try to allocate someone nearby, for the obvious reason. However, if for any reason someone local can not make pick up we would like to know of your interest in case we can allocate it.
The reason why we will prefer to allocate someone local is to avoid inconvenience to you (for example, if the client cancels the job we’d prefer you not to have been driving a long time already to get there). Also, if we allocate a job at a distance from the customer there’s increased risk of inconvenience to the customer should you have a breakdown.
